Monochrome Madness

One word to describe the last few months - BUSY. Recently, I have been neglecting the blog, but finally after settling into my new job (yay!) I've found the time to share with you some of my new purchases. One of which are these minimalist black cullottes - simplicity at its finest!

Necklace//New Look

With a work trip to Glasgow, visiting Forever 21 was of course a must. After scouring their three floors, I spotted these shorts/cullottes and had to buy them. I love the whole monochrome/minimalist look and knew they would go perfectly with my geometric duster coat (favourite coat e.v.e.r.) and a touch of red lippy. Hope you guys like the outfit!

Check Mate

Starting to think that I might be obsessed with monochrome... but I love this checked pattern so much that I've doubled it up! Mixing prints can be really tricky, especially when it comes to florals, so I've played it a bit safe and gone for a similar print but in opposite colours. Hopefully, it really draws your eyes to the outfit without giving you a sore head.

Crop Top//Boohoo
Trousers//Zara
Clutch//Miss Selfridge
Shoes//Boohoo
Duster coats have been taking over the catwalks and blogs, becoming very popular on the high street! I love the shape of the duster coat (even though I'm quite short) as I think it gives a bit of a masculine feel to an outfit due to its loose fit and longer length. I've tried to balance this out with a more tailored trouser! The clutch is from Miss Selfridge which I thought could add a hint of the colour to the outfit, it's also quite big inside - very practical.

Don't be afraid of mixing prints!!

How To Wear: Dogtooth

Shift Dress - Oh My Love
Necklace - River Island
Shoes - Topshop

Nothing better to cheer myself up than a new order arriving! My most recent purchase is this lovely shift dress in dogtooth. I've kind of been looking for a shift dress since they came back into fashion but I've never really spotted one I like until now. I got this one from 'Oh My Love' - I know I mention this brand a lot but I love it so much. I have quite a lot of purchases from here and have been delighted with all of them, so take a look at my previous posts for more of my purchases.

Dogtooth is a pattern that I am also a fan of as I think it's quite striking and a little bit different. I also love the idea of monochrome and adding a hint of colour so that's why I have paired it with my yellow Topshop heels. I've kept it simple with accessories, adding a gold chain, just because I think the pattern is enough without overdoing it with jewellery. I'm thinking of maybe trying this outfit out for this weekend!

What do you guys think?

Julia
